Auditions

We are a friendly amateur theatre group with over 60 members ranging from ages 10 to 70+. Based in the Nottinghamshire village of Lowdham. The group’s first production was ‘Little Bo Peep’ in 1978.

We are holding auditions for our next production – Sleeping Beauty – on Wednesday 13th September, with a welcome and information evening on Wednesday 6th September.

About The Group

We rehearse on Wednesdays from 7.30pm – 10pm, and after Christmas on Sunday afternoons. Show week is February half term (12th – 18th February 2024).

We have an exciting show, and we’re looking for Actors, Singers, Dancers, Musicians, Back Stage and more!

We never turn members away, and we will make sure we find the right role for you!

Audition Dates

We are holding a welcome and information evening on Wednesday 6th September from 7.30pm. At this evening we will have copies of the script to review, and the production team can answer any of your questions. If you are more interested in a back-stage role, our stage manager will be available to answer questions and discuss your interests.

Auditions will be held on Wednesday 13th September at 7.30pm. If you are unable to attend auditions but would like to be considered, please contact us.

Audition Process

All auditions are private, with the Director and Musical Director.

For the audition, you will be required to perform a selected script excerpt that you will be given ahead of time. This will be a part that involves interacting with another character/characters, who will be read by one of the auditioners.

If you are interested in multiple roles, you are not required to prepare multiple excerpts.

If you wish to be considered for a lead role, you will also be asked to sing as part of your audition. You can sing any song you wish, without backing or with a backing-track you provide.

You will then be asked to undertake a short harmony exercise to the song ‘Happy Birthday’.
